Offsetting The Carbon Emissions Used On Our Commute
We recently asked our colleagues for detailed feedback on how they travel to work each day, with the aim to offset the carbon emissions we collectively use as a business to travel, and make our journeys carbon neutral.
To achieve carbon neutrality, we purchased 500 tCO2 (tonnes carbon) of verifiable offset credits in two projects (Delta Blue and Sumatra Merang).
The results for 2023 showed that our collective carbon emmissions measured 353 tCO2. With the investment into these two projects, not only have Hansard become carbon neutral for our collective commute to work, but we’ve exceeded the amount of carbon offsets needed by 40%.
This is a great starting point and an important step for Hansard in working towards the goal of becoming net-zero by 2040. We can now focus on efforts to reduce our collective footprint, as well as offset the carbon emissions that we use going forward.
