The Role

To lead the internal audit function in providing objective and independent assurance to the Group and regulated subsidiary Audit & Risk Committees. This assurance will cover governance, risk management and control frameworks, systems and processes across the Hansard Group. The Head of Internal Audit reports functionally to the Chair of the Hansard Global plc Audit & Risk Committee, with an operational reporting line to the Group CEO.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a risk-based internal audit plan aligned with the company’s strategic goals, risk framework and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a trusted adviser to the Audit and Risk Committee, highlighting key risk and control trends.
• Deliver independent opinion and reports on the quality and effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal control systems, processes and activities across key business areas, including the issuance and monitoring of management action plans where necessary.
• To own, develop, manage and maintain the Internal Audit Charter, Methodology, Audit Universe and associated planning activities, whilst effectively leading the Group Internal Audit function in the execution of its duties (1 direct report)
• To observe the principles of integrity, objectivity, confidentiality and competency of the IIA Code of Ethics at all times and to act in accordance with the underlying rules of conduct on a continuing basis.
• To maintain familiarity with and observe the performance, attributes and implementation standards of the Professional Practices Framework.
• To operate in accordance with the policy framework and standards set out by the Internal Audit Charter and departmental methodology.
• To continuously demonstrate initiative, willingness to learn and the ability to work flexibly within the agreed timescales.
• To establish and maintain a Continuing Professional Development record supporting progress towards and/or achievement of required core competencies.
• To bring data analytics to bear in the delivery of departmental objectives.
